As you are most probably aware, the oil company at Broadford Bridge and Markswell Wood in West Sussex, UK Oil & Gas, has recently received permits for another 4 new oil wells (totally 6) and 20 years of oil production at Horse Hill in Surrey.  This permit will make Horse Hill the second biggest oil production site in the country and will open the floodgates to many more applications to drill across the South East.

Our local campaign groups across Surrey and Sussex believes that these permits approved by Surrey County Council were not legally sound as the planning officers and committee had failed to consider important evidence on issues including climate change, earthquake risk and impact on the Green Belt.

Sarah Finch, from Weald Action Group and Frack Free Surrey, has secured an expert team of leading environmental lawyers, Marc Willers QC from Garden Court Chambers,  Estelle Dehon, from Cornerstone Chambers, and solicitors from Leigh Day, to fight this via a Judicial Review.  Despite working for a fraction of their usual fees, as you are aware, fighting through the courts is not cheap and we need to raise £25,000.

We can't do any of this without your support. So can you please donate now

and help us challenge this decision.

We know there are lots of calls on our money, but if we all give what we can, together we can try to get this very bad decision overturned and set the precedence for future applications in Sussex. Every penny raise will go to the lawyers.
